HI I was curious if the series II engine from a 1996-1999 engine would work in my 1995 supercharged riviera. I also recently installed a supercharger on my car and one of the yellow orings that goes under the supercharger fell out and I noticed it after I was done. Do you think I need to do the job over again it seems to be running fine.
Thanks for any input

1995 Riviera SC

Hi, you MUST replace the yellow O-ring before starting the engine. You are play a very risky game here. IF the manifold does lnot leakwhen cool, it will once the engine reach operation temp 200-210F. the coolant with travel under the s/c gasket and enter the interals of the engine. HYDRO-LOCK, in another word you engine will be ruin in a heart beat.

hope you see this in time.

So you are saying that antifreeze goes through these two holes where the yellow orings go. I will go ahead and replace the oring, can the supercharger gasket be reused or should I get another new one. Thanks for the info

YES, the yellow O-ring is what seal the passage way so coolant can flow into the cavatie of the throttle body. onec you start doing performance work it is wise to close off these two passage way, with a freez plug (forgot the size). by flowing coolant throgh the TB help with emmision and early warm-up. closing the passage way will keep the incomming air charge cooler (dense) better performance. this mod will not throw a SES. the s/c gasket can not be re-use, since you are going to remove the s/c you should also change the oil.

you can go to www.GMPARTSDIRECT.com and order oil and gasket, it cheaper than walking into the dealer. i don`t hve the part number on hand but i can provide.
