I was at work today and during lunch time I switched to a different chip and then reset the ECM. Didn't start the car until work was done(which is 4 pm). When it came time to start it it sounded like it was missing or a rough idle. While that was happening the SES light was flickering. I shut it off and started it again. Same thing happened. Shut it off again and now all is good. I wonder what caused it. maybe the ECM had to relearn?

that "usually" means a bad chip or chip not seated, or contacts dirty on the chip socket

Sounds like what my car was doing after I "fixed" the intercooler and adjusted the boost level. I was getting a code 51. Check this site to see the "poor man's" way to read codes. This is what I had to do to check. After cleaning the ECM connections all is well, and the light doesn't flicker anymore. Good luck:

after the light flickered i didn't get any malfunction codes according to the scanmaster. Starts up fine now.:)

Mine did the same thing. Would only happen every once in a while. Then it got more frequent. I changed to a different chip and the problem has gone away.

Bad chips will make the SES light flicker and the car run terrible.

HTH

Mine did not "fail" for six months after the first episode of rapid flashing SES light. Then about a month later. Then more often...

Hope yours behaves.:)
