Setting lash (non shaft type)

Set lash after priming so you know the lifters are pumped up? Better method?

I pump the lifters up with ATF ONLY. If you use even 30wt you risk keeping the vavle off it's seat. But, they should bleed down with .020-.040" pre-load. I use a pump oil can squirter to pre-fill lifters with the ATF. (ATF= Automatic Trans Fluid.)
