setting number 1 cylinder on compression.TDC

this may sound like a funny question, but if i use my leak down tester hose ,which cyl do i have to put air in to spin engine over so that number 1 cyl will be at tdc compression..thanks....

Not sure what you're trying to do with the leak down tester hose, but I just usually have someone put their finger over the #1 spark plug hole, and click the ignition key until a rush of air comes past their finger. If no one is there to assist, I ball up some masking tape and shove it in the hole, and click the key until it blows out.
