SG1 block wanted.

I seen a few on here for sale , but never purchased. I am ready now. I want the remanufactured motor SG1. I am building another car.

Good luck.... I have one std bore... but it took a ridge reamer to get the pistons out.... those carb'd cars wear the cylinders out faster IMHO.... I guess all that gas... keeps the oil off the rings... and makes the friction higher.... Mine is going back .030 over.....

Just my theory....

Oh... the SG1 motor I found.... had a std/std rolled fillet (rods and mains) crank in it also

I got mine out of the junkyard.... it was a GoodWrench replacement engine....N/A 109 SG1 ....engine was black... but with a blue 2bbl intake and quadrajet style (except 2bbl) carb on it. I assume it was in a regal or cutlass or something....

FYI: A SG1 block is NOT a Stage 1 block.

Casting numbers are 012 and 016 for the stage 1 blocks according to gnttype.org

They also have the power 6 logo cast into the block near the freeze plugs....

Make no mistake.... the SG1 block IS NOT a stage 1......

I have a recently disassembled SG 1 engine from a 87 T Regal. The block is a standard bore and in excellent shape. I was planning on having it rebuilt next week, but I guess I could go a different route. If you're interested, make an offer and I'll let you know.
