my 10 year old boy landed this shark and we are not sure if it was a bull shark or a sand bar shark,it was right at 6 feet long and id say over 200 pounds, any shark pros here?
It looks more like a sandbar shark the best I can tell from the pictures. Bulls have a shorter snout and should have a much thicker body below the dorsal fin. Bulls also tend to have dark markings on the trailing edges of their fins. Either way that is a nice catch. I bet that was a heck of fight for a 10 year old. That's bigger than anything I ever caught off Savannah. Congrats to him:biggrin:
Yes it is,best fishing boat ive ever had, rides great on the water at 26 1/2 feet and goes into the shallow areas too,not to mention fitting alot of people comfortably, grill, great after market sound system, live well, and 10 rod holders...
we fish down by maker 60 in bradenton and are pretty close to the skyway,we found a great spot for big trout off the channel,we had a huge shark on one time but we didnt have the right gear, this time we had 80# spider wire and 100 pound steel leader and plenty of line on a heavy pole...down at marker 60 we also land alot of bonet heads, but nothing this size,I couldnt believe it when he surfaced...
We finished the day with 4 nice redfish and some very nice sized snapper...its funny when the big boats come in and we are on a pontoon cleaning some good catches of the day
