Shield or blanket?

Can an SFI blanket be used in place of a shield on a 8.50 and slower car?

I choose the shield over the blanket because of some street duty from time to time. helps the trans shed the heat better thats my opinion. But the shield is a pain in the butt to clear the floor in both my cars.

How about clearing the cable and the TV cable ??

Both of my cars have t-400 in them. And don't have TV cables And shifter cable comes from rear of trans maybe some minor mods needed Dan.
