shift cable help/ question

ok well i just got my new ptc converter and rebuilt trans tv cable.... and then my shift cable breaks! i ordered one through advance which was too long and the ends fell off. and ordered a cable off ebay from bronx automotive and is still too long of a cable. my stock cable is about 19.75" long and the new one is about 25.25" from end to end on the plastic housing not the cable ends. and doesnt look like it has the same amount of travel as the stocker.

so does anyone know the proper length of cable it seems all aftermarket cables dont fit? and where have people gotten their cables that actually work?!

I bought mine from advance auto and it worked fine.

mine from advanced was pn 04251 is that what you have in your car ?

I dont know what the Part # was.All i know is the box looked old as hell.I know the box was orange and white.
