shift cable replacement

Hello all
I have my new engine ang new tranny in and almost ready to fire it. But while hooking things up I see that at some point I broke the cable where it mounts with clip to a bracket to the pan. My question are
1) do I have to drop the trans to replace this?
2) I need a part # for a new one...Unless someone has a good used assembly
for sale.

you dont have to remove the transmisison.we do stock and sell the cables.call in if youd like.we dont carry any used however.718 784 4256

It's relatively easy to do with the console out of the way or moved/pivoted off to the side so you can access the clips on the shifter and the rubber grommet on the left side of the shifter.

Once you remove the old one, which I don't recommend until you have the new one in hand, so you remember how the clips go in place and all, it snakes right into place and installs quite easily.

Best to check the length of the new one vs. the old one too just to make sure they are very close before the installation.

Make sure the shifter is in the gear the tranny is in when installing.

Thanks guys, Chris I'll give you a call monday after work, I'll also need the clip that holds it to the bracket. I sure don't know where I would be without you folks and these forums!!!
