I have a 86 T that has been very well cared for and the trans still shifts firm but has 127,000 on it. I need to change fluid and thought I could put a shift kit in while I was at it. Is it worth the time and money with these miles or should I wait till it needs gone through? Id like a cheap shift kit for this if it goes in now. Looked at the Ck and PTS for the best but thought maybe there is something out there for the 100% street driven stock car that would work. Thanks Ive put a trans go in and a T brake so Im not totally clueless.

With that many miles it could be ok if it had a non abused life and ran cool and proper fluid changes.
How is the 2-3 @ WOT?
I like the California Performance Transmission High Tech VB KIT, not a fan of CK.

I guess I havnt checked the WOT 2-3 shift. Its just a driver as the GN got all the hypo parts. I assume Im checking for a flare at the 2-3. What would the shift kit from them do for me and the installation difficulty? Thanks for the help.

I like the price on that kit but I dont see any info on parts or install instructions.

Our shift kit is The most preferred here and everywhere else.It is fully tunable for street or race.It includes a new seperator plate(no one offers this)with modified circuits to eliminate clutch and band failures. It includes a complete pressure regulator system, assortment of accumulator springs, governor spring, line bias and accumulator spring.Precise data and technical information are included in the instructions. The Art Carr kit was the original kit for the trans but what we have is much more efficient at giving you what you want,a trans that shifts right at all throttle angles,,,,,,,,,,not just a bangy shift all the time.

You are very humble:rolleyes: . Thats a arrogant bold statement, deflate your ego show a little tact to the other supporting vendors.

Several vendors have very good shift kits each has their own style.

I have found the calibration errors and corrected them in the form of the most advanced valve body kit ever offered for this transmission.Do a search on the product ,the results speak for themselves.
