Hey guys, now this isn't GN related but it is 200-4r related. I have an old oldsmobile 88 with a 200-4r and I'm getting sick of the hella long shifts at WOT. The car has 105,000 miles on it, but it shifts shifts perfect. My fluid is going to need a change pretty soon and I'm thinking about putting a shift kit in it. Any side affects? BTW this is a 307 powered car that runs 16.9@86mph...sooo we're not talking about a whole lot of power

It's a good candidate for a valve body kit. Good thing is, even if the transmission does croak, you'll retain the kit during the rebuild so nothing's lost.

now that's what I like to hear. I've just heard some rumors that shift kits on high mileage trannies was a bad thing...I figure long ass shifts on a high mileage tranny is a bad thing

they are a good idea on hi mileage transmissions ONLY WHEN THE CUSTOMER INSTALLS IT so there is no one to point a finger at if it takes a crap and it usually will if the trans oil is dark indicating poor servicing .new oil loves to eat old clutches www.ckperformance.com
