Shift point question and 1st Gear question.

Hey guys. I have a 87 gn. My first question is, is there anyway to change the shift points. It has a mild shift kit and it seems to shift really early. My next question is, my shifter wont let me shift into first gear. Is there anyway to make it so you can get into first gear manually? If I could do this I wouldnt need to mess with my shift points. Thanks in advance.
