If the motor was balanced with steel caps and studs, what would you say the max safe shift point would be, everything else being the same?
If it had a steel crank and h-beam rods it should be fine up to 6500. If stock crank id try to keep it under 6000 for longevity. You can run 135+mph under 5900rpm even with a NL converter. So unless your car is capable of going over 135mph in the quarter i dont see any reason to ever rev beyond 5800-5900. You should build with a target shift point around 5700-5800.
