I watched a friend make some passes the other day and he's still having shifting problems. His old trans and 3200 stall Vigilante started out shifting from 1 to 2 at about 53-5500 rpm. Then over the course of a few outings the shift point went up to over 6000 - it would bounce off the rev limiter no matter where he set it
. Found the governor spring out so replaced that but no change in wot behaviour. Put in a different trans and it shifted over 5600 from the start and now it's over 6000 as well. If he lifts it will do the 1-2 okay but that's a heck of a way to keep off the rev limiter. He still ran a 10.7 at 126+ that way, though
. The converter stall does not seem to have changed. Spoolup on the line and rpms through the traps are normal. I think the 2-3 is also higher than before but it's not nearly as bad as the 1-2. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going bad? Thanks.
