Shifts hard from 1st to 2nd

I have the stock trans. and just bought it and it shifts hard...I mean real hard from 1st to 2nd, any suggestions. Is this normal???

Mark the TV cable where it is now. Then let out one click toward the bumper.

if the trans has never been worked on the 1/2 checkball may have broke thru the plate.this will cause a huge feed hole to the band.someone may have modified the circuit as well or line pressure is too high.more than likely it isnt or you would have other complaints.my recal kit will help you.
