This is a total shot in the dark but does anybody have a .004,.005 or .006 cam button shim? I have a DLS cam with a bearing pressed in the end. Then it uses a regular rollerized cam button with the spring removed. The shim would fit in the end of the cam.
My cam thrust is .014 and would feel better if i could get it to .008-.010.

Ahhh just found out its nothing special, just a Comp 269 rollerized cam button and thrust plate...... so if anyone has extra shims from one.....

I will do that if i am unsuccessful at finding somebody that has one lying around.

If you're using a fel-pro timing cover gasket, torque it down and leave it overnight. You might get that .004" you're looking for without having to source anything.

They're quite a bit thicker than the GM gasket so it's stands to reason it's going to give a few thou after it finds it's happy place.

Thanks Earl. Thats what i did. I installed the gasket and front cover let it sit for a couple of days.
I did get the shims i needed.
