I have searched, and learned a few things from the threads I've found, but still can't find a rundown of what the difference is between a short and a long block? Let the blasting begin if this is a super easy question, but I really want to know and can't find it.

Please explain...

Ok if serious,

Short Block is motor minus heads, intake and cam in most cases. usually assembled block, crank, rods, and Piston

Long block is pretty much complete motor +/- a few parts.

its usually up to the buyer and seller as to what +/- parts are included

longblock is not a complete motor

shortblock is the bare block with assembled rotating assebly (crank rods pistons)

longblock is a shortblock with heads cam, timing set and valvetrain
