Shoutbox - is it possible to turn it off?

Shoutbox - is it possible to turn it off? I have tried the search feature and read everything to read about the site but I can't find anything about turning this feature off.

Is it possible to turn it off? Does anyone know how to do this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Easy - click the "-" on the right of the upper shoutbox title bar - under "Quick Links"

That will hide it.

Yup you tried everything.... except move your mouse to the top right corner of the box and click on the little red line

Thank you for helping with that. For the last 27+ years my job has been trouble-shooting computer software. On the job I would have had to tell you that the little red line tells the end user nothing and that the instructions for turning the Shoutbox on/off should be located on the website in an easy to find place. You are right, you will never please everyone. As that is a given, there is no reason to get snarky about it. Overall I like the new site design.
