Could a Shurflo pump be used as a preoiler? It is compatible with motor oil?

Yes You could rig it up.
With a timer it could be used as a post luber if it would handle hot oil? No I don't know what our oil temp get to.

Summit sell a pre & post lube system for $400+. It is a very good sytem but $$$. Purchased mine in 93.

On mine I had a 1/4"NPT bung welded on to the side of my oil pan about 1" up from the bottom toward the rear for the suction pickup point. Then I put a "T" into the oil cooler return line at the adapter for the supply to motor.

I think the heat of hot oil would warp the valve/diaphram, and the whole pump head probably.

I'm pretty sure it's only rated for like 180*F, H2O. The neoprene diaphram should handle the oil though.

Tilton makes a pump that can handle hot and cold oil, trans fluid, etc. It is very similar to the shurflo pumps , but I think the internals are way different.
