Been hearing various rumors for years on tracks possibly opening in CT but doubt if it will ever happen. Only chance would be if one of the casinos opened one on THEIR land.
Consumer Reports owns (or leases) the track and doubt if they would just up and vacate it. We can always dream.

Believe it or not the Govenor is getting behind this,After the
news on channel 8,Fox 5,The post and a few others are coming down for interviews as well as the govenor making call into JW Racing to speak about it.

Otto, believe me I am all for a track in CT, just don't have a lot of optimism about anything actually happening, ESPECIALLY at the former CT Dragway site. If it did happen, would I be there on opening day? You bet! I remember a few years back, some talk about Stafford Springs track supposedly opening a track behind their oval track but nothing happened.
Best scenario would be if Consumer Reports reconfigured things so they COULD have racing there AND still keep their operations there. Would make sense business wise for them as having the track pulling in money would pay for their operations. I am sure that area has a lot more houses around the track area than back in the day so of course there would be noise problems with the neighbors.

I think after YEARS and YEARS of this kind of talk, and nothing happening, you really can't blame people for being a lil apprehensive about this 'plan' too. I'm with Mark, I'll be the first one in line. BUT, with property values soooo high, I just don't see a 'new' track in CT's future. UNLESS, the Indians can get something started. I know i'm sick of driving an hour and a half to LVD for just getting in 3 runs and ricers wetting down the track the whole day. We can only hope, and like I said, I already signed the petition. Race Track
Hey otto this a great idea. Only problem is there aren't enough people who know about this. I will pass on this info to all my friends, i see my brother signed as well. Why didn't you TELL ME BRO, well i am signed in now. All those interested lets get the word out. I hate the long dreaded ride to N.Y. Thanks for the info Scott B.

Wow, I clicked the link Home didn't know this was going on in CT! Think i'll pass though as racing for a 100 feet is kinda.......well, racing for 3 seconds or less??

I keep thinking that they should open up a dragstrip in Worcester, MA. They have a big airport with a 7000 ft runway that they can't attract commercial airlines with. Not a lot of neighbors and would be less noise than the airport and more of a money maker.
