Silicone hoses

Would it be wise to run non silicone hoses on intercooler and turbo piping for a few days? No racing going on just plan on putting more highway miles on car than normal..

Over 30,000 cars from 1986-87 came from the factory without silicon hoses so i would tend to think it might be ok.
