So while cleaning up the donor car, throwing garbage away, and clearing floor to start working on it..
I got the bright idea to pull all the body mount bolts and see how easy it was to lift the body up..
Providing I got all the bolts (5 on each side??????), it was still difficult to move.
All glass is out, decklid, interior, and pass side quarter..
Tank is still in, factory V6 NA exhaust kinda hanging on, and drivershaft factory loop is on..doors still on..
I was kinda thinking the driveshaft may be hanging it it up a little..Thought I could budge it at least..
Tank is on, but pretty empty..
Either something is still hanging the body up, or it is heavier than I thought..
Even though I knew I would not be able to go crazy with tank and doors on, I figured I would get a little lift out of it by pulling up on the rear end of the body...
This was just for experimental purposes , so I know how to do the GN when it comes time..

Could the tank lines be holding me up that much? Dont really need to lift this body , but rather just curious to see if it would go..

AM I missing something , or just need to shed more weight, ? TAnk, doors, lines, driveshaft???

Thanks

Everything was disconnected or removed

On my tub. No drive train, tank, doors, front clip to lift off. The last stuff to remove were steering column, emergency brake cable, vac brakes setup, and then the body bolts. Don't remember how many at the moment 5 or 6 per side.

Left the trunk deck on - Anyway when it was time to lift using the trunk latch loop & engine hoist it was stuck and took some prying with 2x4s and additional lift for the back to come free. WE went slow and double checked everything we could see for hangups.

HTH a little.

Helps alot..Maybe the body mounts are just really stuck/rusted to the frame/body..Might need a little help like you say..I dont really need to lift this body , just wanted to get it free so I could figure out the steps when it comes time to do the GN
I will look into the E brake and tank, All that is left on mine is the doors and one quarter ..dropping the doors should help alot, But I really think the rubber may just be stucck to the frame well..

Thanks
