Hey guys,

Quick question: I just closed up my rear end cover after changing the gear oil. Originally the car was non-posi (though it has one now), so the inside cover didn't have a magnet around the little bump. I had an extra tranny pan magnet so I threw that on. It stuck really well, and was the perfect size to fit around the bump, so I put it on and closed her up.

Was I supposed to silicone/epoxy that magnet to the inside cover? I just slapped it on dry, and since it stuck so well, I didn't even think about it. Of course, now that the job is done, I am second guessing myself.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i've taken them out, cleaned them, and just stuck them back in place without any glue or anything like that.. it's a rare earth magnet, the cover is fairly heavy gauge steel: it's not going anywhere.
