Last week i was running at the track. It was my first real timings since i ran my induction through my headlight. My first run was 13.050 @ 105. Normally my first run is 13.3 and goes lower as the tuolul mixes in. I thought that was great, but my next 6 runs were 13.296-13.356. Any clues why? I didnt change anything between those runs.

Look at your short times, as in the sixty foot times-

if you went 13.0 on radails i assume? you probably got a 2.0 sixty foot, on the 13.2 and 13.3 you were probably getting a higher sixty foot time

.1 faster in the 60' is close to .2 in the 1/4

so the faster you get the car out of the hole, the lower the ET

show us your timeslips

You're complaining about running 13.0 @ 105 in street trim with some toluene? On street tires?

Plus I'd like to know how you are launching the car that you can have a variance of 6/100ths of a second over 6 runs.

My best run is 12.8 @ 104mph. I have 36lb injectors, running 24lbs of boost off stock turbo and stock intercooler. Southside traction bars, 3-way adjustable competition engineering drag shocks. I launch at 2500rpms normally, sometimes i can hold 3000. Hindsight being 20/20, i think i might have possibly just not held much boost off the line because my nittos seemed to not hold as well as they normally do in the wet box. Ill be at the midwest buick challenge if anyone else is going to be there.

Oh yeah, when i was running 13.3's my 60 was 2.1 (1.9 normally) my 1/8th was 8.6 @ 83 (normally 8.3 @ 88)

24 psi is a lot of boost for the stock turbo and intercooler. I'd use more timing in the chip and keep the boost below 20 psi and you'll go faster.

I guess i am going to have to get used to all the timing things with these cars and all the chips too. Seems a lot easier looking at my friends 355 small block :). Well, this winter i was planning on doing a lot of work to the engine, practically a whole rebuild if i can scrummage the money up. Also run pure alky injection, new intercooler, possibly new turbo. If you have any ideas on what chip or how to time the coil packs (all my friends are small block guys) itd be much appreciated.

Get ahold of eric marshall for a good street/race chip-

UNGN made a good point, you will go faster at 20-22 psi of boost with more timing, you probably will pick up a few more MPH too:)

ive been running 27° of timing with a racechip on the stock turbo, injectors, intercooler and 90° elbow, eric fine tuned the chip at the nationals this year and the car went its fastest ever-

do a search for a do it your self alky kit, you will save alot of money-

i will be in morocco, just look for my blue dodge dually with TURBO6 kansas tag on it:cool:

time the coil packs?? all timing is changed via the computer chip, erics website is in my signature

Well, i guess the 20lb boost idea would seem to make sense of my street chip (ATR pitbull) seeming faster than my Red Armstrong 108. What would you recommend from eric, as in diagnostics for the chip?

HEY, that atr pitbull has alot of timing in it, so you better not run it too hard on 91 octane, it will ping alot-

just email eric, he will get you started with the chip

I run 93 octane from BP stations and BP stations only. Everyone tells me thats who makes the best gas in the US. I've used shell 92, engine ran rough till i added 93 octane from BP into it. I get engine cleaner for it about every month too just to keep the injectors running nice and smooth. Thanks for referring me to eric, seems like i can get the perfect chip from him.
