Hey guys, just need some opinions on installing my dads new Alky kit. He has the newest version available, dual nozzle kit with the new bottle. The problem is, he has the dual fan setup on his car, and I just recently put the AC back on the car. So, there doesnt seem to be any good way to mount it where I see *most* of the kits mounted. So, I was thinking about putting the bottle on the drivers side fenderwell where the charcoal cannister was originally placed on our cars, up against the metal inner fender by the horns, inbetween the end of the 9" K&N and the fender. I did some test fitting and everything clears and fits nicely. Looks like it was meant to be there........so will this be okay? How do I get a longer alky line to the up-pipe made, or can I make my own? I think Im going to run it along the bottom of the MAF pipe over to the up-pipe......any thoughts on this? Thanks.......

that sounds like a good spot. as far as the longer line, just call steve, i beleive he has them.:D

That is exactly where I placed mine. I relocated the charcoal canister down and sat on top of the frame rail. I kept all of the lines hooked up to it and just used two INDUSTRIAL SIZE zip ties to mount charcoal canister. I then used two L brackets to mount the alcohol container still using the ties/bolts that came with the SMC kit. Steve will swap you for a longer hose. I suggest measuring and getting just enough hose with no excess. I always prime my pump and line before I need it to account for extra distance alcohol has to travel. Glad to help if you need more details. HTH. Kent

I would like to see pictures if you got em, but its not a big deal. When we did the test fit on my T-type, it was close to the hood, but cleared. I dont think Ill have any problems with that. I would like to know where you ran the line from the bottle to the up-pipe. My dad got the dual nozzle system if that means anything. I was thinking about mounting some sort of holders on the bottom side of the MAF pipe and running it there out of sight. Otherwise, I was going to run it behind the alternator and over the front of the intake to the up-pipe. Any suggestions?

Can I make my own line at a local parts/supply store? SMC has already taken since the BG Nats to get the dual nozzle hose out here to Kansas City. I think we finally got it late last week. I dont know if I want to wait another 3 weeks????????

HELP

Kent, or anybody. I did test fitting on my dads car, and the stupid pressure gauge hits the hood! I was going to rotate the entire assembly (pump, T-fitting out of the bottle, and the pressure switch), but I dont like how tightly it fits against the bottle.

I guess what I really need to know is...the little black switch on the bottom of the spray line or whatever its called, does that thing have any moving parts? It has a little black wheel with gear teeth on it, and it appears to have some sort of points or contact point on it. If this is pressed up against the bottle, will this affect anything? Thanks guys. Hope you understand what I was trying to explain!

Hell, this thing would fit perfectly if it didnt have this pressure gauge on it. Do I really need this gauge? Its really causing some headaches!!! I dont see why its there, you cant watch it, its under the hood! Can I take it off and plug the hole?

Yes, it can be taken off. I ran mine without the guage and the switch for awhile when my switch developed a leak. As long as you leave the switch on there you'll know it's working when the yellow light is on.
