smc and methanol

just installed an smc kit(used got from friend) it is the new version with the progressive controller he went with alkycontrol well iam new to this alky thing and was wondering if you could run straight methanol with this kit and also what life span does the meth have once you fill up the reservoir the reason iam asking is i dont get into it to often but i want to have it full just in case i need to put a smack down on a mustang and represent the buick comunity properly:biggrin: maybe i will go to alky control down the line but for now you cant beat a free progressive smc kit:biggrin:

Contacty Steve at SMC and ask him if its ok. Some of his systems are ok to do so.. some are not ok to use straight methanol. Newer ones yes, old ones no.

And there are those that have old systems that say its ok to use methanol. But this is the net.. and the MFG should be consulted as to proper liquid to use with the system.
