Someone I know just bought a 87 GN. The engine has been rebuilt and I believe a bigger turbo has been put on. It uses alot of oil. It smokes blue when idling. The guy who sold it to him said that it has chrome moly rings in it. Could this be a problem? What else should I be looking for. THANKS!

Man it could be a bunch of things. First order is to check the turbo out. Any oil in IC, piping, DP, etc..? Next would be a compression check. I have also seen rich smoke that washes the rings causing oil to burn due to a failing MAF sensor. Good luck!
