I have a problem with heavy exhaust smoke after hard accelleration. Once the engine cools, no smoke. This has happened twice and I can't find an obvious cause. It is oil smoke not antifreeze, I can tell by the smell. Any ideas would be appreciated because I'm all out of ideas.....Thanks

Frank

I had presssurized block which blew out the seals on three new turbos. The sympton was a periodic huge white cloud of exhaust smoke like a cropduster. It is likely worn turbo seals. Just an idea. Brad

ya, i just raced a mustang gt about five minutes ago and got the same thing. right after i hit second gear a huge white cloud of smoke came out. scared the crap out of me because first gear hung a little longer than i think it should. still beat the mustang though.

I have been there and done it. It my case is was pressurized block which prevented the oil drain from the turbo to flow into the lifter valley. I highly doubt this is your issue. Presurized block caused the huge white somkescreen. Oil builds up in the turbo and then is released down the exhaust side of the turbo. Take off the air intake by the throttle body. With a screw diiver gently see if there is any play side by side on the compressor shaft. If there is you have a blown turbo. PM me with your phone number if you want to talk in person. It is faster and gets you some info quicker. Good luck. Brad
