Yes

That is my daily driver. It was formerly my mothers car, I just purchased it from her and had it shipped to me here in southern california about a week ago.

Its a bone stock '98 oldsmobile intrigue with the factory alloy 16" wheels...

AND SOME A-HOLE DECIDED TO STEAL ONE OF THE WHEELS WHILE I WAS SLEEPING.

This now makes 3 times that I have had property stolen from me in the 3 years that I have lived in Southern California (not all in the same spot)

Looking at a total of probably around 3000 dollars worth of things stolen from me alltogether.

And you know what? I'm forced to just bend over and accept it.

There's realistically nothing I can do, especially here in CA.

I have a couple of leads after talking to folks but nothing solid. I am now on the look out for intrigues in my area. Don't know what I am gonna do if I find my wheel on one of them. God knows the police won't do anything.

wow you need a pit bull, and a gym pass. If not you can always hire a mexican spy for $8/hr and catch the fool red handed. Robbed more then once in a blue moon is rare, i wonder if someone has it out for you.

Well, like I said, the thefts were in different areas and definitely not connected.

I put on the spare and went driving around, didnt see anything. I had previously seen a gold colored intrigue in the area and was looking for that.

On my way back from dinner just now with my GF I decided to drive around in the blocks near my house. I miraculously came upon the gold intrigue, and it was loading with a passenger with its lights on sitting in a driveway. It was dark and I didn't want to slow down too much so as to ruin the element of surprise but it appeared to have all chrome wheels and one non chrome wheel like the one on my car. I turned around and passed by again and it sure looked like what I originally saw. The passenger was a fat mexican woman.

I then turned on a side street and waited and in my rearview saw him drive past on one of the cross streets behind him. I headed him up at main street and followed from a good distance for a little bit trying to see the wheel better. I couldnt get a good look.

Now I'm left debating whether or not I need to sneak over there tonight and look at the wheel and tire to see if it is mine (I had four of the same brand/model tires on the car currently )

That is the first thing I am pondering.

The second thing is what I will do if it is infact my wheel. Do I go for some street justice or hope that the police will do something about it?

gimme some advice folks

I wouldnt steal it back because most likely the people know where they stole it from and they will come back and do something worse to your car. I would call the cops and hope they do there job. Not worth getting shot over for a wheel..I see where you are coming from though.

Follow it home one evening and try to get a pic with a digital camera. Then maybe you can show a cop what you have.

cops arn't goin to do a damm thing ... "how do you know they didn't buy 1 tire for thier car" ...cops responce

Well, I decided to pass by the house at 1 am, and this morning at 8:15

there was no car there either time

I'm worried that my first "drive by" tipped them off and they are now keeping the car in the garage or something.

I agree with the first sentence but not the second. Its unbelievable to me that people get mad when you retalliate after they screw you and you have done nothing wrong. The police really can't do anything because the wheel or tire has no serial#...meaning your word against his. Also, depending on the officers interest in the situation, you might just get the blow-off. Tough situation pal, I know the feeling.

Loosen all the wheel lugs on that wheel. Maybe it will fall off and roll to back to it's rightfull owner. Or, steal the wheel back and use the same cinder blocks.
