So which 1987 turbo car do I have?

I was floored the other day when someone made a comment about the Turbo6 air freshener in my 2006 Impala. He wasn't even a TB owner.

I just refer to mine as a Turbo Regal. Mine is black with all chrome trim. Last summer had a guy walking across the street in front of me tell his girl friend "thats a Grand National".

Lol... but dam that looks comfortable:wink:.

It is. I have the original buckets and consol in storage waiting for new fabric. The only problem I have with the pillow seats is they are actually too soft. There's not enough support and on a hard launch I feel like I'm gonna flip over the back and fall into back seat.

I bet "Disco Inferno" sounds great in that car.

Actually it looks a lot better than the real real ugly BLUE interiors. ;) :p

Looks a lot more comfortable than a GN seat.

Yup, a Turbo Regal with the T package, but isn't a Turbo T. However, I call mine a Turbo T, it has a Turbo and a T on the fender. It's a Turbo T in my book, even if it's not a WE4. I wouldn't worry about it too much other than some WE4 owners. No one knows what a Turbo Regal is anyways since it doesn't look like a Grand National.

I used to call mine a turbo T untill i found out a turbo T wasnt really a turbo T unless it had a T meaning turbo T so then I figured ok I wont call it a turbo T because a turbo T is only a turbo T if it had the code stating turbo T telling me in fact that i had a turbo T....which i do not:D :D :D

Before I posted this, when I called Hagerty I told them it was a 1987 Turbo T, then I also gave them the vin. I just received my paperwork today and it shows on there "Turbo T" plus the correct vin code.

I guess they would still honor it if something happened to the car, despite the fact now I know it isn't a Turbo T.

Dare I say, that looks prorgraphic!
Yes, the disco ball is missing...

Haha. I would take it out on dates if it wasn't for the super rich exhaust that brings tears to my eyes and smells on my clothes for ours after I drive it. I guess I gotta figure out why it won't idle right before the disco ball goes in. :D

Call them what you what. Turbo Regals are what they are. You DO have something. You still own a piece of GM History that you should be proud of. There are not many Turbo T's still out there. I dont think I'll ever part with mine. Its a base Regal Limited with the T package in light Chesnut.

I can't type yesterday, I meant pornographic. It looks that good!

All you guys with your 'other than black' TR's make me jealous.
I'll have one one day. I just have to pick the right 6 numbers. :p

84Regal3.8,
Terminology isn't the issue. I'm sure you've figured that out.
As mentioned, our TR's are GM history, most just don't get it.
Be proud of yours. It's more rare than our late production GN.

I'm getting tired of telling people that my T-Type is NOT a Grand National. So much so, that I've decided to make the necessary changes to turn it into a GN. It's already black, and since it's WH-1 it has the rear spoiler...

I had mine out in the driveway today and the guy filling the propane tank at my neighbors asked me if it was a GN. I told it was a Turbo Regal. I always follow it up with " It Has the same engine as the GN."

Sometimes people still dont' get it. I get questions like, "does it have the 8.5 inch rear like the GN?" or "didn't the T-types have a smaller turbo?" I have to reply with, "THERE IS NO PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE!!!!!! The GN was just a trim package!!!!"

Whether it's a WE4, GN ,Turbo Limited or just plain old Turbo Regal, we all have the LC2 and that's all that matters.
