Hi guys,I'm thinking of installing an alky kit on my T.
I have a few questions. Are you guys able to run high timing race chips, and high boost levels with pump gas and alky ?
or low timing chips and high boost?
I'm running a TE-45-A and 55#inj,and have it dialed in at 17-18 psi boost,on a 93 chip and 94 octane with no knock, and it pulls like mad.
would 25psi and 106 race chip be possible on alky???
This thing would be hairy.
I am new at this topic,so any input would be great.

The general consensus is that the Alky and 93-94 octane likes less timing and more boost. Since you have a turbo that can make way more boost than you are currently running, you should probably keep the timing where it is and just add boost. JMO

High timing can work, but the setup has to be dead on..if the tuning is off, you'll ping like mad.

For a street car on high boost, keep the timing down and the car will be happier. Remember on the street, the car is usually heat soaked, the roads arent prepped, oil contamination in the intake, etc...lots of variables that induce detonation. way different than when your at the track with slicks and a cool motor. Outlet temps on the turbo also play a role.

Best thing to do is start with a low timing chip and start upping the boost..when you get to the boost level you want to run, IF you have zero KR, then up the timing until your start seeing KR..at that point add more alcohol or drop timing.

With high horsepower also comes a greater alky volume requirement... Its all a balance act..

I'll not get into adding water to your mix..

easy.. you do this inside the eprom chip.

You'll need a burner and an eraser and a little knowledge.. else pay someone.wink wink. to do it for you.
