Im Looking into Comps 980's Springs if someone can tell me what other parts i need to buy if the springs come with retaners and what not? more info the better. Thanks everyone for helping me out

You will need springs, valve locks (you are bound to loose a couple), valve seals for intake valves (not required but a good idea and they are cheap), valve cover gaskets, and a valve spring tool. Kirban's sells one, but if you use their's weld it up a little as it broke on me on the first spring. After re-welding, it was fine and helped alot! It's an easy job and made a huge improvement in top end pull.

Alright that has helped me out alot. But one thing is im only replacing the springs so do i really need new valve seals i dont want to buy more than i have to. Also i think these comp 980's are about 89# on the seat isent kinda light? And if there is any other word of advice that you might give me that would be great. Thanks
Brian

The new valve seals are like $10. While the spring is off you might as well change the seal while you are in there.

Alright sounds good do you know were the cheapest and fastest place to get it from?

I got my 980's from fullthrottle an got the locks and seals from poston's. Valve cover gasket I got from pep boys.
