I have an 87 Turbo T and when I try to start it it just cranks for ten to twenty seconds before it starts. I turn the key and let the fuel pumps prime up but it doesn't get any fuel pressure. When it eventually does start the pressure reads fine. I have a brand new Walbro fuel pump, the fuel filter is new, and I just replaced the fuel pump relay. Any suggestions as to what it could be? I had a fuel issue earlier this year and it's why I changed the pump. The adjustable regulator was swapped out in the process with a non adjustable but they were swapped back after it was discovered to not be the cause of that problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So you are saying when you turn your key on (engine off) you have no fuel pressure.....but do you hear your fuel pump come on?

Just trying to get a good understanding of what you are describing, as soon as the key is in the on position and you do hear your pumps you should have instant pressure...if not you need to go back over the basics....you just replaced your pump so I would go back and double check all your lines.

what are you using for a fuel pressure gauge?

There is a Jegs gauge attached to the schrader valve. I do hear the pumps power on but pressure says 0. I took it for a short drive a little while ago and when accelerating the engine sputters. Looks like I'm dropping the tank again. Everything else to that point looks fine.

Yes I did. I had the same problem over a few days after "fixing" it initially. But the first time I dropped the tank the hose from the two pumps to the sending unit was split, then another day the same thing happened but to a different hose. So I replaced all the hoses. Next the hoses kept slipping off of the T fitting so I dropped the 2nd pump and installed a boost-a-pump. Haven't looked back since.
