Guys I need help picking out a stall converter for my combo...I don't REALLY want to spend more than $500 for a converter if I don't have to...I know the Art Carr and PTS Extreme 9/11 converters can be bought in an all billet version but what if I don't want all billet??? I guess I just want the best NON billet converter if there is such a thing...I will be driving this car 99% on the street and need a lockup...my combo includes:

PT-67 P-trim turbo, PTE front-mount intercooler, stock motor, 65 lb injectors, rebuilt trans by Vince Janis...etc.

or is it OK to get a "used" converter from someone??? do converters typically go bad?

Just my .02 but why skimp now?

You just spent a large amount of money on the tranny, turbo, and front mount.

You probably need a strong/billet lockup.

With your car I'd probably go with a 5 disk Vigilante if you want to lock it up racing or at high mph on the street.

I'd go with the proper stall recommended by PTE for the turbo.

Buying a used converter is kinda like buying a used turbo.

Kinda risky....

ok so do the billet converter...but which one is THE best for pure street use? i have already been told by Patrick from PTE that i should use a 3500 rpm stall (footbrake) 3200 (flash stall) for my 67 turbo...i thought the art carr converters were all non lockups btw???
