It's being used on closed-chamber heads only. Open chamber like 3.8 heads really don't have anything to cut into. Raising the compression ratio is masking the gains. I would like to see a cut with no change to comp ratio and view the results. Increasing compression ratio, for all practical purposes, increases efficiency (more power).

Good point John , how are you supposed to judge the gains from the groove when your also raising the compression ratio from 8.5:1 to 10:1.

I too would like to see a constant compression ratio test, but if they are able to raise the compression ratio that much after the mods, and couldn't before because of knock, while keeping the fuel octane and timing constant (or maybe retarding the timing because with the extreme turbulence you don't need as much which also lowers the octane requirement), then that's a pretty good test. I have to read all the data on the website to see what they've done, however.
