I'm in the market for some new spark plug wires. I'm wondering how much of a difference there is between wire brands and which is considered to be the best.

Red and Black and yes, the MSD's should be able to squeeze into the factory separators. The ULTRA 40's black only and NO WAY they fit.

MSD also makes a 8mm Black Street fire wire and yes it fits in the stock seperators.You can buy them in a universal set and cut them to EXACT size as the OEM.These are very affordable and still a good quality made In USA wire.I think Kirbans still sell an oem wire,and Shanes are also top notch.Many choices

I don't fully agree that Taylor are the best choice. I make Taylor wires. Don't care anything about them. The only wire I have every seen issues with.

While researching all items I'm running on my new stroker engine, I talked to a lot of the builders and tuners. If $$$ is not and issue...the ULTRA 40's from Shane are the best on the market.
Magnecor are also very good, but they only came in red.

I run Taylor's $27 set from Summit, no problems. Others have gone with the grey Bosch sets from Autozone with lifetime warranty.

I got a set of Blue 7mm Magnecore that I bought many years ago.

I looked them up for my new engine, but wanted black. I contacted a sales rep and he told me that their race wires were 8.5mm and only in red. I was bummed. I got a set of the ULTRA 40'S from Shane and HOLY SHIT...they are works of art.
