Quick question. When people speak of using the Autolite 104's are they refering to the standard copper core ones that come in the orange box?

Yea, I just didn't know if there were different kinds of 104's. Like platinum or iridium, or are the copper ones the best to stick with?

I think there are platinum ones. Don’t know if there's a difference except the price. Call Tom at Champion and let us know.

Ok, I tried calling them, but no answer and I got an auto no-reply when trying email. However, I did find that you aren't supposed to use platinum plugs on turbo cars since they are more likely to cause knock. The good conductive copper core plugs are the way to go. I'll be sticking with the Autolite 104's for now and probably try some NGK's after that. Have heard good things about those plugs as well.

Autolite 104 for street driving, Hotter
Autolite 103 for racing. Colder

At least what I use in my GN-1 Aluminum heads

Different day, same tune, 18# of boost, and switching from the 103s to 104s my ride picked up 4 MPH

So did you go back to a fresh set of 103's later that day and loose the 4mph?

Nope.

Like I said same tune less plugs...base fuel and timing, boost and alky all the same (different days). I think with the low boost I'm running the engine likes a hotter plug.
