Special Tool Nedded to check Lifter Preload??

Is there a special guage needed to measure the lifter preload on the lifter

i read "wire guage" not sure what this is,


any help is appreciated

Guage that contains set of various wire sizes with small 90 degree bend at the end...normally used to set spark plug gap...
can get at any auto parts store...
