anyone ever take their car to the local circlr track and participate in the spectator drags? ever since the first time i went i wanted to run a t/r there, but havent had one running well enough.......till this year.. car is completely able to be set up and be competitive i believe , as ive got 10 point cage adjustable everything a nice roller cammed girdled motor b/b t-66 and a front mount....unless i get motivated and put in the stage motor i just picked up......but seriously want to try the spectator drags at seekonk speedway this year...any thoughts?

I support you on this because this is the first time I've ever heard of spectator drags. I think it would be absolutly cool! A Turbo Buick V6 laying the smack down on some un suspecting V8 muscle.... It sounds like you have a stout combo too. I don't think you will have much of a problem so long as you get traction:)

Local 1/8th mile track here has them. They are basicly a demolision derby. Wouldn't run any good car at that track. Watched some kid destroy his girlfriend's Mom's car one time. It would have been funny to hear that one explained.

i know its dangerous for my car, and dont get me wrong id be very worried ,but thats half the thrill...rubbins' racin' ...lol...i figure if i can get out front first most cars wont catch me....then its about my driving ...my car is pretty well set up or has the ability to be well set up....if i can make it stick in the turns they aint gotta chance..lol....what track is that btw? lee? everybody thinks im crazy, but i think id have a good chance at being very competitive .....besides nascar is the root of the grand nationals, right? indy cars ran stage2 motors...

its funny cuz ud think the awd cars would be dominating, but its almost always a rwd usually a 2nd gen and a 4th gen camero are in the finals, well at the track i go to...i figure with my stage motor i can jus be in 1st n 2nd gear cuz itll take the revs a lil better.....

While "rubbin'" might be racin', I wouldn't go out and "rub" my car with the other schmoes for a trophy just for fun. There are plenty of drag strips where rubbin only takes place when things go terribly wrong.

Your car but if it were mine this would be a big NO.

I was really only joking bout the rubbins' racin' Cole ! LOL. Yes I don't wanna be out the exchanging paint with them, but I do wanna run it....its very competitive and def takes some skills and balls to go out there with a nice car... It s just something alil different for a change . If I can get the tires to grip coming outta the turn I think ill be good....Idk streetracing is dangerous too but plenty of people do that,at least this is on a track with only one other car and the wall the worry about...lol

While racing on city streets is quite dangerous as well as illegal, doing it in a secluded industrial park in the wee hours of the morning with minimal fanfare is much safer than what the fnf crowd and the general public seem to think street racing is.

I still wouldn't want to swap paint with the other nascar wanna bees with my Turbo Buick.

To be honest, if you're not used to driving on a round track I wouldn't do it. It takes an entirely different set of driving skills to keep the car off the rails. The other thing to consider is that your car isn't set up for neutral handling if you haven't modified it. I prefer one that's a little more biased to the rear personally so you can slip the tires and they'll let you point the car better. Our cars are designed so that it will nose dive into the corners to keep you from pushing it beyond the general drivers ability.

I have some experience mostly through friends who have run A-bodies and g-bodies and pro4 modifieds that will help me set up the car on the scales and adjust the suspention accordingly....I know it'll be different but its not that new to me....maybe ill build my gn for it since its a rot box ...Idk 1 way or another ima do it....

I wouldn't try it around here unless I had an old $h!tbox. This was in So. Maine.

Yup, that's about the sportsmanship I see too. Wouldn't get out there with anything worth over $500.

I gotta say that I don't think I've seen someone intentionally slam into another esp off the line..not at seekonk anyways, and not that it doesn't happen...

Seekonk is a nicer track. Hudson NH is a dump and the selection of racers matches that.
