i went to the local pontiac dealer today to order a speedsensor for my tta.the dealer told me that it has been discontinued.has anyone found an alternative to get a new one?mine intermittently works, then no signal to speedo and scanmaster 2.thanks for the help.

Here's what I found at O'Reilly's auto parts.

BORG-WARNER - Speed Sensor Part No: S8047 with a 1 yr warranty $40.99.

ACDELCO - Speed Sensor Part No: 12396782 or Part No: 213-225 Special order.

Autozone and Advanced Auto also carries them. Hope this helps.

Check with Chris at CK or Mark at PTS. One of them probably has one in stock. They're tranny shops that specialize in 2004R and advertise on this site. You can find them in the Who is Who sticky on the transmission board.

What do they look like and where are they located? On the trans or under the dash? Sorry but I haven't seen the speedo drive on these cars as mine was gutted before I bought it.

on the tailshaft of the trans with an electrical plug on the end.
Is there a buffer or some other device between that and the speedometer? Is this adaptable to a Turbo 400 trans? Would like to reconnect my speedo.

Thanks,
Marty
