Help! Here's what I got: I will eventually install a new speedometer cable (from tranny to firewall connector). Pulling the old one out was real tricky. Now, I'm wondering if there is any suggestions on how best to install the new one (whenever the new one actually arrives) Anyone route a replacement through a different location? TIA!

I want to replace my cable from tranny to firewall connector. My local dealer can't give me a good part # & of the six listed, my only way to find out which one is correct would be to pay in advance with no refunds. I'm a cheepskate & don't need up to five speedometer cables lying around gathering dust, which I overpaid for.
Do you have a good part # for the cable??
TIA
Roger

Used speedocables

didn't want to go into the details, but I need a new cable because the small bolt that clips the cable to the frame came off. I could have taken 5 minutes to fix it, but eventually it got kinked and broke.

Uh, the reason for the story is that I'm getting a used one. I wouldn't need one (@180K miles) if I had just taken those five minutes to reattach the clip. Not sure who else might have them, but I'm getting mine from Brian Weaver. He mentioned he had several. Check around, or email Brian at bweavy@aol.com

Hope this helps.

Greg you were shiped early this week.I also included the entire cable to make it easy on you ;).

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. I finally went to O'Reilly's and turns out that an early 80's chevy pickup is the same cable from tranny to firewall. (They had a break in them to go to the cruise control servo). It cost me about 25 bucks for a new one. Look for a speedo cable for say an 82 pickup w/ a 6.2 diesel and you will find the right cable. Hope this helps you out.
