Ever own a car ANY car that was a spooky car or had a mind of its own?

What was it & what weird quality did it have.

Mine was 1988 Olds A body.. Would cut out at 45mph when I was on the highway going to work.. would pull over sit for 10 mins & then it would run fine..
The dealer tried replacing lots of stuff but it kept doing it.
Had to give the car back on Lemon law.

A friend had a 58 Chrylser that you had to bless with a old maraca handle before it would start.

My Regal has a mind of her own, I swear.

Just for an example,
There were a couple times that I had gotten pretty mad at work, and took off. But, for some reason I tried to do a few burnouts in the parking lot to help me feel better and dump some stress, but it wouldnt even try. Just kinda sat there.
Someone was taunting me on the street, and wanted to race. I was all set to race him, and he took off when the Regal stalled for no reason at all. A few seconds later I see cops pull the other guy over.
I was driving her year round for a couple of years, and I think she got tired of the winters. The first winter she dumped the trans. Second time I tried to drive during a snowfall I came out and she had a flat rear tire.
I cant remember a lot of specific events, but just a lot of things that make you think. Most having something to do with keeping me out of an accident, or doing something I would later regret.
Since it was actually my grandpas car, I got it once he passed on, I would like to think its his way of watching over me.

Old job I had I drove a 2000 F-350 everyday. The radio volume and the stations would change by themselves.

my car has gremlins... randomly my alky will come on at like 5psi instead of the 13 i had it set at, or my boost is down to 7 all of a sudden..... weird stuff

My wife's '95 Camry had the driver's side front caliper lock up so I replaced both front calipers. When I went to bleed the brakes, nothing would come out of the passenger front caliper. Since the pass side worked fine before, I was totally baffled. I decided maybe the rears needed to be bled first but found nothing would come out of the driver's side rear bleeder. So now I had opposite corners that would not bleed. Could the master cylinder be split opposite sides instead of front and back? No one seemed to be able to tell me for sure. I unhooked the lines at the master cylinder and blew compressed air through them thinking they were blocked but both corners that would not bleed had brake fluid shoot out of the bleeders. Ha! Maybe it's the master cylinder! I reconnected the lines and tried to bleed again but nothing. So I replaced the master cylinder, proud that I had figured it out. Then I went to bleed the brakes starting with the passenger rear and WHAT THE!! Nothing would come out! This side worked fine before the master cylinder change. All of the other corners bled fine and the pedal was firm, but with the car in the air on jack stands and spinning all 4 wheels, hitting the brakes stops them all but the pass rear. It keeps spinning! This is my first foriegn car and my first time to work on it. Maybe I just can't work on Jap crap. But the car stops pretty well and stays staight. Every once in a while I jack up the pass side rear and spin the tire to see if it brakes but nope. The brakes don't even phase it. Now the brake pedal slowly sinks to the floor like the master cylinder is bad!!!! This is a devil car!!

Not real familiar with that year Camry, but some have a valve/spring assy in line with the rear brakes that limits the fluid to the rear wheels when the rear suspension unloads. They need to be bled on the ground or wired/rigged while bleeding so that they think they're on the ground. Brake hose? Sorry to hop in here, just hoped to help. Oh, and I had a Renault encore that I thought was haunted...but then again, what Renault isn't?:D

I've got a 82 Corolla, ugliest car in town, has the .98 a can Wal Mart touch up paint all over it.The drivers window regulator broke so I had to pull up the window and slam the door really quick to make it stay up against the window stop.Buddy of mine told me I needed to just send the car to the junkyard,a few days later his drivers regulator broke. These coincidences happen all too often, headlight burns out a few days later a friends will go out, starter quit, few days later a friends will quit and so on.It only happens to someone who has spoken bad about it.All my friends have nicknamed it "The Demon".The nickname has stuck for about 7 yrs. now.I bought a 94 Sundance to drive and parked the Corolla and about 2 mos. later I hit a deer and totaled the Sundance.Honest to GOD!!!It likes my GN though because the GN was here first, they are family!!!:D

Bought a 69 Firebird with a OHC 6 from a friend. It was his uncle's car. I swear it was haunted. The uncle had never married and loved his boat. He fell off the boat, hit his head and drowned. My friend ended up with the car. It had bad brakes and I had to plead with his mom to sell it to me. I got it home to find out the vacuum line to the booster had a hole in it. Easy fix. From there it was donwhill. It got a few sticky lifters (actually they kind of suppress valve bounce but look like lifters) got random oil leaks and would run fantastic one day and bite the next. I sold it to Littlesteve. He beat it then sold it to his girlfreind at the time. She got into an accident and it was totaled. I think she made out on the deal. Strange car but I wish I had it now. I'ld do a nice turbo swap into it:)

That BITCH made out..
Guy in a Grand national side swiped her & she got $500- for it..
I sold it to her for $75 & a xxxx JOB.
Lets not go there! :(

This is a true story!! I had a 1966 Ford Failane GTA. I parked it front of a small store .left it run because it was cold outside. While I was standing in line the clerk yelled "OH NO!" I look up and the car had backed around the parking lot and right into the side of a Chevelle. Smashed the door and 1/4 panel!

Hey thanks, Turbo T/A 1543, for the suggestion on my Camry brakes! I'll try it out this weekend.

HEY TURBO T/A 1543
WHAT DOES ALOT OF UNFINISHED PROJECTS MEAN?
A RENAULT... SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED A FFFAST CAR

If this is who I think it is, I've got a "fffast car" a$$bag. I checked out your profile - you sleep for a living? Well, seeing as John Holmes is dead, then you must be a FIREMAN! And I didn't have to buy a nice trailer to support my hobby of having a "drag car". But buying a trailer to drag it to and from the track was probably wise (Mustang owner). Your friends and the local AAA guy were getting tired of "dragging" you home.:D I'll just keep cranking my A/C up and setting the cruise for my trips to & from the track, Thank You. Anyone reading this thread, I believe "NUTTS GT" is one of my very BEST friends screwing with me, if not then I've probably peeved somebody! Sorry if that's the case. Anyway, if you get tired of spending the millions you make handling your hose on your Mustang with minimal results, then it's still not too late. Knechts' Auto Recycling will give you 1.5 cents a pound for your car, allowing you to come to the Dark Side. The scrap price received for your car will probably get you a high mile carbed turbo Buick (which is STILL faster than your Mustang), but we all have to start somewhere!:D:D:D Oh, and sorry to hijack this thread.

IVE TOLD YOU A BOUGHT THAT TRAILER OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF MY HEART FOR MY FRIENDS THAT OWN GM'S. IF SCOTT WOULD HAVE TOLD HE WAS SELLING THAT T-TYPE IT WOULD BE MINE RIGHT NOW AND NOT YOURS.
