I am putting my door back together but forgot to notice which way the spring goes on the window regulator crank. Which way does the spring go, large or small opening against the panel? And does the panel go on after the spring? What is the sequence? Thanks for your help.

The plastic washer goes on first, then the large end of the spring on top of that, then the handle. The washer keeps the spring from digging into the panel and the small end of the spring fits on the inside center of the handle. :)
Larry.

Larry, so the spring and washer all go on after the panel is in place??
Thanks for your help in this.

Larry, or anyone else. Can you verify which way the spring goes on? It just seems way too tight with the large dia. against the plastic washer. The small end isn't large enough to go over the handle shank.
It looks like the large dia. should go against the crank handle since it seems to fit in the grooves well.
Let me know.

You missed the info.:)
The big part of the spring goes against the washer, otherwise you won't be able to put the handle on.
Larry.

Larry sorry to beat this to death but it could go on either way. The small end could go over the regulator post against the plastic washer and the big end against the crank handle. Not sure why you are saying the handle would not go on? I see it as the spring could go on either way but the way you are describing seems that the spring would be very tight.
I wish I could explain it better.

I do understand what you are saying though. Thanks again.
