a little confused...
i saw this motor for sale previously and it raised a few questions for me. my 86 shortblock is tired, i have a new topend and an looking at either buying or rebuilding the short block. Please don't think that i am ignorant, but i am trying to clarify what exactly the applications for this motor are.
1. Off center or Odd fire or both?
- i had thought that only Stage 2 motors could be off center. this block appears to be from the Buick Motorsports Perf Parts Catalogue (i have to dig my old books out to verify) so it's good stuff. but...
2. What will it take to make this work in place of a 109 short block? will an OEM front cover and timing chain work? does it need a special intake or ditstibutor? will S2 heads bolt on?
3. will the 8445 heads, intake and cam sensor work? what about a balancer and flexplate? internal or external balanced, i hate to assume anything.
4. " don't know much more about the motors history but from what I can tell it has new bearings and a fresh hone job. Motor was built by conley performance plus"
could you please tell us more about what you do know about the motors history instead of what you don't know. Drag raced, road raced, street car, what heads were on it, performance history, etc. i have never heard anything bad about Conley's, are there any reciepts or anything from them? can a perspective buyer call them?
