I want one these and i have done a search but seems that the person that done these have went out of business.Does anyone else sell a stage right? I see that some guy sells something like this on ebay, works just like a stage right. Has anyone bought one off ebay and is it the same as the stage right? If anyone has a stage right laying around i would be interested in it...thanks Bob:)

my friend bought one off ebay and it worked fine, but also ramchargers.com has them for sale.

My Avatar is a stage right brake launch at 18#s of boost
1.5 60 foot

I have heard

That it is a crap shoot. Some are lucky and some are not. I will probably take it easy the first couple of launches but after that i am going to let it have it. this is not my daily driver so if i break it oh well....time to work on it again:D ...................thanks guys ....Bob

I hated mine. It felt like doing a neutral drop and IMHO there is a too long of a delay in it. I'd get a bat break, deep pan, and be done with it.

i have had both, and letting go off the buttton on the bat brake feels the same as pushing the shifter out of first.

But i still prefer the bat brake because sometime i like to manually shift which cant be done on the 1-2 with a stage right

Otto, being a tranny guy, do you think one puts more stress on the tranny more than the other?

I i would say more undo stress, as stated before when using the BAT BRAKE you use the lower roller clutch for extra holding force thru first gear, when you shift your stage right at launch you are no longer getting help form the low roller clutch. How much difference does that make:confused:
Im not sure but i ran one for a year making maybe 25-30 launches in the 1.5s and never had a low roller problem.

The stage right by far, as stated before it is like a neutral drop and relies on the sprag which ain't strong and is positive mechanically locked and the bat brake relies on clutches which are more forgiving as they give alittle by slipping. Just my .02 :D

as far as calling it a neutral drop, when you neutral drop a car you are free reving the motor, With a stage right you are NOT free reving the motor and it is loading the convertor, if you held your foot to the floor it would rev to your limiter(free revving) on the brake it only will alow stall of the convertor and the trans is holding, that is why even with the bat brake i always bring up the load on the trans (around 1300 rpm) just to take any and all play out of the geartrain and rear.
