YouTube - Spirit - Taurus - 1968 - (slideshow) Theres no doubt that stairway to heaven was influenced by this tune. The article I read stated this "taurus" song was recorded a few years before Zepplins version and that the band toured with Zepplin!

i don't know who was the first, but i do know that the music store in Aurora, Illinois has a sign up saying that no one is to play that song..Wayne got yelled at when he tried.

I thought Blind Melon Chitling was the first with a bootleg recording at an East Texas roadhouse back in 1933. His was the Gospel version, so maybe it doesn't count.:wink:
