Stalls when throttle is closed quickly

The stupid thing will almost die when I let out of the gas and the engine isn't under a load (i.e. doing a burnout) but won't when I'm at around 45 mph or higher.

Is it my IAC or could my chip be wrong for my set up.The guy I bought it from said it had a Conley mini mag chip but I doubt it is for my blue tops and TE-44.

I just bought a Thrasher 93 for Blue tops but haven't got to try it yet.

Any ideas?
 
Maybe your minimum air setting is too low. If the throttle platecloses all the way, maybe the IAC isn't opening fast enough to keep it from stalling/stumbling. Just a guess. I'd try resetting the minumum air, IAC, and TPS. Try pulling your up pipe off and see if the throttle plate closes all the way. Just a guess. Good Luck.

i had a chip that made my engine run rich after i put in my 50's. when i let off it in boost it would die. i think it was drowning it out or something. got the chip fixed and it works fine now.
 
It seems it might be drowning it out since it will blow a cloud of black smoke when this happens.
 
sounds rich. switch the chips and let us know what happened and make sure you got all the sensors and stuff set right when you do. why fool with an unknown chip when you can switch it for one you know works in less than a minute?
 
I had the same problem and it was to much fuel. Do you have an adjustable regulator?
 
Wow no one asked about the IAC or TPS/BLM's?

I had the problem with poor Idle and wanting to shut off after a load and spent a week, 2 friends and Turbo-Link/TB.com and worked it all out. Bad tps and a bad IAC.

Now she runs great!

Would like to know what these are on yours though.
 
Do the IAC reset procedure on the GNTType website and set your TPS. Recheck your IAC after setting your TPS and you'll be all set.
 
I tried the new chip but it still ties to stall.I havn't got my scanmaster hooked up yet, but I will try the other tips.
