Starting my hybrid project (UPDATES)

Thanks,As far as the brakes I had no idea if they would fit or not,I really want to run the stock wheels.
I am hoping to stretch the rears to 10" and notch the frame:D

several people put the Olds wheels on a wider rim. FCR Performance gets them, I THINK Wheel Vintiques makes them that way.

I have my spare SSIII wheel down at a brake guy right now seeing what we can whip up to get some serious stopping power for a good price. I was just talking to him this afternoon. I gotta have something by this spring... its just moving slowly...

Here is a pic of what it looked like yesterday.
And a few of the shortblock

I never noticed the battery is on the drivers side on the Olds...

Very cool hybrid project Otto and that Cutty is definitely a nice candidate for this swap! Good to see your back in a G-body with some LC2 power, I knew you couldn't stay away for too long!

Nice! I had an 86 442 and loved that car. Allways thought Buick should have used that style guage cluster, that Olds center console is more comfy as well IMO

Ah yes. I should have remembered that from my old 403 T/A.

I have done this swap in an 87 cutlass, shaved door handles, black paint, GN
wheels, driveline. Had lots of fun with it, you can use the stock rally gauges if you would like also. Don't forget VSS sensor is behind the rally cluster, if not, then get a rally cluster from '86 or 87. Have fun!!

I did the LC2 swap a few years ago in one of my 84' Hurst Old's. The only problem I have with it is trying to wipe the smile off my face every time I drive it

Removed the wiring last night,Simple swap from what i see,Maybe a wire or 2 to make the gauges work correctly.
Motor comes out tomorrow and hope to
have the frame cleaned and painted by sun.
Motor should be ready to install by mon.
I gotta go pick the trans up,
I think for now im gonna leave the H/O 2400 convertor in it.
THe turbo is a 66 DBB,Id like to see how close it is to working,
I may just put a XFI controlled 50 shot in there and keep the tight convertor

The wiring mods are pretty easy. For the gauges just use the senders off of the Olds motor (oil and temp). The biggest deal is the fuel system. I used a GN gas tank. The filler neck will be slightly higher and further out but it will fit. You will have to run wiring for the fuel pump and injectors. I added fuses to the fuse box for those 2 items. You will also have to modify your fuel lines because the Old's lines come out on the right side and the Buick's are on the left. If you need anymore tips, let me know.

Ya,I am picking up a tank and all stock lines and im gonna get them in there.
As far as injector wiring,You had to add a wire at the fuse box?
The wire in the GN harness should go into the bulkhead now ccorrect?
But at that point its terminated at the bulkhead?
PM me your number if you dont mind a call
Thanks

There's no wire at the bulkhead (C100) going to the fuse box. You will have to add a terminal and wire going to the fuse box plus add a fuse in the box. There are plenty of empty spaces in the fuse box.

more updates

Got a few more things done
