I am getting started on a new short block what do you guys think.
Bowtie 183 block with splayed caps
Callies 3.875 stroke crank
Eagle 6in H beam rods with Ross 4.155 pistons (I have these)
Then I will use my top end I have now
Dart 230 pro1 heads
Jessel shaft mount rockers
Solid lift cam but I will have to get a new one cut
Victor e intake
Will be changing my s480(will never by B/W agine) to a GT47/88
I will use my 4l80e trans with the tbrake and 3.08 gears and 275/60 dr.

Sounds like it will be a MONSTER when all is said and done. Did you have a problem with the BW? Also, what are you doing with the shortblock in you car right now:wink:

I have had a few issues with the service for the B/W. As far as the short block I havent thought to much about it. Maybe a turbo project for my son he will be driving in a few years.

Hey there guy!

Since i got my classis fast efi system for 575 shipped just got to modify or buy a v8 injector harness. I decided to use my 9.7:1 motor for mock up in my notchback. But i am building a 421 sbc but with a stock 2 bolt block. The block will be splayed with 4 bolt mains, studded top and bottom. We have raced the same type motor but with 18 degree heads, 13:1 and 225 shot in our outlaw car (4.87 1/8)for over 2 years now with no problems. But that will be a great block to build off of and with all that extra cubic inches. You are going to be in the 9's easliy.

What happen to the bw s480?

I was given a s472 if you haven't looked at my thread lately!

Hoping to go twin bw turbos!!!!

What are the spec and numbers of the pistons???

What size injectors are you using?

With your fast setup are you using a 6al box or digital box?

Is that piston going to work with that rod and crank combo ? If so is it a low compression piston for that combo?

Kid turbine i have 72s with alky for now should be way more power than the 275/60s can handle and yes I do have a 6al box. Louie my engine builder say it should be 9 to 1.

Standard 9.02 deck height??

The piston will be very short with a standard deck height. 9-1 is possible with a large cc head but piston design could be an issue.

Thanks for the info I think I am going to use a 3.750 stroke crank which sould be a 407 with 9.2 compression.

And put a quality dished turbo piston in a stock deck height block? Dont think that will work...

The pistons are je not ross and are a dish piston. I am having them cc'd now to be sure what they are. I think they are a 28 cc piston with 1.125 compression distance.
