I just recently purchased an 87' Turbo T. When you start the car it won't stay idoled on it's own till after it warms up (2 to 3 minutes). Even once it idols on it's own it still let's the RPM'S drop to the point where it wants to shut off but it doesn't. Any suggestions????

You would probably get more viewing of this topic if it was in the Tech section.

I sure would like an answer to this question too!! Mine does the same exact thing when it first starts--and when it is cold outside it gets even worse.--Eric

Check your vacuum lines. If a line is off or you have a leak somewhere, it will cause the engine to rev up then back down to the point of almost dying.

1. Move this post to the tech section.
2. What are your scanmaster numbers?
3. If you don't have a scanmaster, get one. It really helps!
4. May be your IAC which can be adjusted with help from the scanmaster.

I had the same issues and ended up having to replace the IAC's on both TR's. It's cheap and easy to do if you have the scan tool....

Good Luck

Thanks For The Info!! Waiting To Sell My Truck So I Can Buy What I Need To Get This Turbo-t Up To Snuff. My Goal Is To Have A 12 Second Daily Driver Bolt Ons Only.

Hey, Turbo 39151. With what I have now do you think a dutt neck intercooler mild injectors with matching chip and a 3'' d. pipe should do it???

It's a good start. First get a scanmaster and get the car tuned right first. I know it's boring but it needs to be done first. In the meantime stockpile the "goodies". You should be able to hit your goal fairly quickly...
